Joint senior coach for the past two seasons, Ben Martin has made no decision based on his playing career, but from a coaching perspective he has chosen to stand down.
Martin has personal commitments throughout next season and for him to put his hand up was not an option.
In his absence Swifts will welcome Adam Leslie as an assistant coach.
Leslie, who has been in Geelong for a number of seasons, was tired of travelling and said he was looking forward to his role at the club.
Leslie is a strong footballer who has played at a number of different clubs and will provide Swifts with that extra leadership and skill through the midfield or on a half forward flank.
For Hanns, next season will be much the same as before he and Martin began their coaching partnership.
"I have coached before on my own so I know what to expect," he said.
"Having Adam on board will certainly help and Chris Bird has put his hand up again to help."
Bird was the eyes and ears for Hanns on the sidelines this season while Hanns was on the ground.
Like 2014, the pre-season will be important for Swifts and that will get underway late November.
Shane Salmi and Damien Joiner will help out with pre-season activities in order to strengthen and condition the players ahead of the season.
Hanns is hopeful most of the players will be returning, but admitted talking the travelling players into another season would be tough.
"It is hard for those that live away and travel back. We have made it pretty clear we want them to come back, but it is their call."
Travelling players included Brett Hargreaves, Josh Molan, Luke Mitchell and Julian Carr, who were all an important part of CKS Swifts success this season.
Jordy Ralph was re-appointed coach of the reserves team, after they showed improvement with him at the helm in 2014.
Hanns is excited to work with both junior coaches as well Ralph and hopes they can all implement similar ideas.
"We really need to stick to a game plan so if they are needed in other teams they know what is going on," Hanns said.
