Some great new attractions will feature, including slot car racing, V8 simulators, ferret racing, whipcracking, and a mining display.
The local minerals industry, represented by Stawell Gold Mines and Deepcore Drilling, will be exhibiting an underground haul truck, an underground loader and an exploration drill rig.
Mine staff will be on hand to explain how the equipment works. The exhibition will also be running a gold panning demonstration where everyone can come and try to find some real Stawell gold.
The Pie Eating Competition and BMX stunt riders will be back again after providing great spectacles last year.
Professor Wallace's Puppet Theatre and the always popular Animal Nursery will keep young children entertained during the day.
The Halls Gap Zoo will have some of their exotic animals on display, with zoo rangers on hand to share interesting information and answer any questions you may have.
Adoptable, Stawell's very own pet rescue team, will be on hand with some of the dogs they have available for adoption.
Adoptable will also be selling their homemade dog and cat treats, with all proceeds going towards supporting their fabulous rescue work.
Entries for the ferret racing will be taken on the day and ferrets can be left in the Animal Nursery before and/or after the race, allowing owners to enjoy all of the Show entertainment on offer.
Ferrets must be brought to the Show in secure cages. Show organisers are hoping for a big turnout; ferret racing is a lot of fun for the owners, spectators, and ferrets too.
The ferrets run through lengths of PVC pipe and the first to emerge at the other end wins.
The traditional favourites will all be there too, including the Beaut Ute, Car and Motorbike competition.
The driver/rider of vehicles entered as part of the ever popular competition will receive free gate entry, while the first 60 entrants to arrive will be given a novelty number plate.
Other favourites include the Horse Show, Tiny Tot and Showgirl competitions, Photography and Hall Class exhibits, Sheaf Tossing, Tractor display, Model Railroad, Miniature Goats, Live Music and school displays.
The Stawell Show will be officially opened by Claire Bibby at 12.45pm. Claire is the Cropping and Grazing Apprenticeship Coordinator at Longerenong College.
Claire was recently appointed to the committee of the Young Agribusiness Professionals (YAPs), which is one of seven committees within the Victorian Farmers Federation that advises the Policy Council.
Stawell Show organisers are hoping for a great turnout of patrons tomorrow. The support of the community is vital to ensuring the Show's continued success.
