Stawell Toyota started the 2014/15 season with a bang as they dominated the courts in their 16 sets to seven win over Cassidy Painting.
Team captains Blair and Debbie Hart led from the front and set the example for their teammates to follow as they cruised through the first round undefeated.
They also partnered up in the mixed doubles to finish the night in style as they secured a 6-1 victory over Howard Dunn and Sue Blakey.
Stawell Toyota's captains were well supported by team members Koby Stewart, whose victorious night included a 6-0 win in his third men's set, Les McLeod who ended his round matches with a 6-2 win in his mixed doubles and Madi Rickard who topped off her three winning sets with an easy 6-1 result in her mixed doubles tussle.
Cassidy Painting did eventually find some form winning four of the last eight matches played, to add some respectability to the scoreboard. They will now be looking forward to seeing better results as the season progresses.
Frewstal and Crowe Horwath competed in the closest match of the night as Frewstal claimed the points over Crowe Horwath by a mere seven games.
Frewstal's numbers man Nick Seeary started his season in the best possible way winning his three sets.
Comprising of an 8-4, 8-3 and the final set 6-0 victory with partner Phil Hutton over Brett Graveson and Brae Scantleton.
Seeary's efforts played a big part in Frewstal securing victory.
Crowe Horwath did have the most winning players in the men's section overall with Aiden Jensz, Michael Cox and Gwilym Notting all going through undefeated and that obviously gave them momentum heading into the mixed doubles sets.
While they did come home with a wet sail and win all but one of the final eight sets, Frewstal had grabbed enough games earlier for them to sneak home with a seven game buffer and start their year on the right path.
Results
Frewstal 11 sets 124 games defeated Crowe Horwath 12 sets 117 games.
