This year the teams comprise of nine men and six women with doubles, mixed doubles and singles sets being contested.
Each side will play together as a team for the first time as they try and work out their strengths and weaknesses while looking to discover some wildcard players from the newcomers or last year's junior brigade.
Round one has Stawell Toyota versus Cassidy Painting and Frewstal versus Crowe Horwath. Farrers Tyre Power will have to wait an extra week before they hit the courts as they are the team to start with the bye.
Stawell Toyota will be led this season by Blair and Murray Hart who will share the number one male role and Debbie Hart who takes control of Stawell Toyota's ladies contingent.
They take on Cassidy Painting whose team captains are Howard Dunn in the men's section and Sue Blakey in the ladies.
Both sides will be keen to get some sets on their side of the score sheet early and start the competition with a win.
The other night match sees Frewstal with joint number one men Shane Field and Garry Wood.
The two share the number one role and will team up with number one woman Madi Cross as she guides the ladies section.
They are up against Crowe Horwath who again have a shared number one male position.
Joel Freeland and Andrew Dunn will rotate the top spot while Jaiden Bach will be the constant and instruct her ladies to make every shot a winner.
With the quality mixture of experience and youth in all sides some close results will be expected, but it may just depend on whether the racquets have been in storage for six months or they have come out for the odd hit in the winter months to keep the skill levels high.
