The combine claimed a relatively easy victory against an undermanned Tatyoon outfit in the Twenty20 clash at Central Park.
Swifts Great Western was sent to the crease after Tatyoon won the toss and elected to field.
Sam Cocks and James Devery were the two players who opened the batting and showed no signs of first round nerves, as they both made early runs.
With an opening partnership of 41, Swifts/Great Western were in the box seat when James Devery lost his wicket.
Rick Peters came to the crease to join Cocks in the middle and immediately had an impact.
The runs looked to be coming quick for Swifts/Great Western.
Cocks was the first of the season to raise his bat for his half century before being dismissed not long after on 51.
Peters followed on 19 runs making way for recruit Matt Delzotto.
Delzotto's time at the crease was shortlived as he failed to trouble the scorers.
However, Craig Marrow added a quickfire 36 and held onto his wicket as Swifts/Great Western finished their 20 overs with 5/138.
William Joyce was Tatyoon's only multiple wicket taker while Michael Harricks was the most economic.
Tatyoon battled early with a steady partnership between Darren Beer and Andrew Ward, but a couple of quick dismissals meant the game was over midway through their innings.
Tom McCord was the best of the Swifts/Great Western bowling attack with 2/12 off his four hours.
Tatyoon finished at 6/83, falling 55 runs short of victory.
In other matches it was a good start for Youth Club and Aradale as they took the points against Pomonal and Buangor respectively.
Like Tatyoon, Aradale won the toss and sent their opponents Buangor in, but they achieved a far better result.
Chris Jerram was the first of the opening Buangor pair to depart with just five runs on the board, while Harry Ganley was busy trying to occupy the crease.
Jack Ganley did not trouble the scorers and at 2/17, Aradale took control of the match.
Matthew Stasse was the man doing the damage for Aradale as he claimed his first two wickets for just seven runs.
A 64 run partnership between Harry Ganley and Shaun Allen gave Buangor some momentum.
In the end Buangor made a respectable score of 105 off their 20 overs, giving their bowlers something to defend.
Aradale made steady inroads into the chase and after 18 overs, they had claimed victory. Allrounder Stasse was left not out on 49 when Aradale went past the required total.
Jack Ganley was the best of the Buangor bowlers with 1/5 off three overs.
Youth Club's bowling attack looked stronger against Pomonal with the inclusion of Pete Barnett, despite the recruit not taking a wicket.
Barnett conceded just seven runs from his four overs with accurate swing bowling, to finish with an impressive economy rate.
Cam Kimber also kept the batsmen on their toes, claiming an important wicket and conceding just seven runs.
Pomonal had little answers as the wickets continued to fall leaving them with a total of 64.
Youth Club relied on Steve LeGassick to do most of the work in the run chase and he was up to the task, hitting up 28 runs.
Only four wickets had fallen and there was still more than two overs remaining when Youth Club sealed the win.
