The Marnoo Back-To committee has been busy making contact with as many residents as possible, in the hope they will return for the celebrations.
Long time resident Chips Fearon said the celebrations would commence tomorrow at the Marnoo Football Club rooms.
The purpose of the event is to bring together current residents, past residents or those who have been involved in the community in some way through football, cricket or any other association.
Unfortunately in recent times, residents tend to only become reconnected at funerals. It was at the last funeral that the idea emerged to have a reunion without a funeral.
One of the event organisers, Michelle Stephenson, said Marnoo was once a thriving community, particularly in the 1970s.
"It was a wonderful community for young people to grow up in," Ms Stephenson said.
"It is made up of the kindest, funniest and down to earth folk and friendships formed here have endured.
"I moved away nearly 30 years ago, having only lived there nine years and every time I have returned, it is like I never left - it is home. This is because of the people."
The Marnoo Back-To committee has received a magnificent response to the event and hope to attract around 150 people.
Tomorrow's event will get underway at 4pm at the Marnoo Recreation Reserve, with entertainment to be provided by Scott Fraser.
There will be a barbecue tea available at a cost of $15 per person.
A $5 cover charge per adult will also apply for the back-to celebrations, with children admitted free of charge.
Campers are welcome at a cost of $10 per night per site. Those attending need to bring their own drinks.
Breakfast will be available on Sunday morning for campers at a cost of $10 per head.
