Mr Turner visited North Park earlier this week and met with representatives from the Swifts Football Netball Club and Northern Grampians Shire Council about the need for further upgrades for this facility.
Noting the Victorian Coalition Government's $100,000 commitment on Friday towards redeveloping the Swifts clubrooms at North Park, Mr Turner said 'there is still more to be done' and that he would push for additional funding for North Park.
Mr Turner said the investment was 'great news' for the Club but said he would continue to fight to secure additional funding for North Park and its many user groups.
"I welcome this $100,000 commitment from the Coalition Government and as The Nationals candidate for Ripon, I will be fighting for more," Mr Turner said.
Mr Turner spoke with representatives this week about the preferred stages of development including change rooms, kitchen, the community room and netball courts.
"Sport is the lifeblood of our regional communities, it brings people together, it encourages us to be active and healthy, and our local teams such as the mighty Baggies are a great source of local pride and community spirit.
"As a coach, a former player and a parent, I understand the important role quality local sporting facilities play in attracting and retaining players, whether that is football, netball, tennis, cricket or athletics.
"With fierce competition between rival clubs and sports for player's time, it is vital that our local sporting facilities are the best they can be.
"Governments, whether they are local, state or federal, must continue to invest in facilities like North Park to ensure they remain relevant and continue to attract players to our local clubs."
Mr Turner said he had raised the issue of further funding for North Park with Deputy Premier and Leader of The Nationals Peter Ryan as well as Minister for Sport Damian Drum.
"Both recognise the need for ongoing support and I will continue to advocate the need for further funding with them at every opportunity," he said.
