VISITORS to the Grampians can now access more of the famed tourist area following the completion of $3.25 million works to rebuild assets damaged by January's bushfires.

Works have been carried out at Zumsteins Picnic Area, MacKenzie Falls, Beehive Falls, the Taipan Wall Climbing Area and Mount Stapylton Walking Track from Mount Zero car park.
The Nationals' candidate for Lowan, Emma Kealy said the Coalition Government's investment to restore areas in the Grampians National Park was a welcome boost for the spring school holidays.
"This is great news for local businesses and tourism operators that some of the region's most popular visitor sites will be open ahead of a busy spring and summer period," Ms Kealy said
Minister for Environment and Climate Change Ryan Smith said the Victorian Coalition Government has worked with Parks Victoria to ensure fire affected areas are re-opened as quickly as possible.
"Visitor facilities, car parking, fencing, signage, walking tracks and lookouts, as well as water and electrical services at MacKenzie Falls have been repaired," Mr Smith said.
The Nationals Member for Lowan, Hugh Delahunty thanked all those involved in the Grampians recovery efforts over the past eight months.
"The scale of the fire damage and complex recovery task will see other key sites open in time for Christmas 2014 and Easter 2015," he said.
