The purchase of Jackson genetics has proven to be a winner for many clients, with the Jackson Livestock Team, committed to producing performance orientated sheep.
The Jackson Border Leicester and Poll Dorset flock ram sale will be held on property at Moyston on Thursday, October 16 at 1 pm.
One hundred Border Leicester flock rams and 40 Poll Dorset flock rams, will be offered for sale. Five specially selected Border Leicester rams suitable for stud use will also be offered.
The complete offering of rams are well grown and raring to go, they are structurally correct, with very balanced Lambplan figures.
A large proportion of the Border Leicester rams on offer at the flock ram sale will be $uperborder$ which are Border Leicesters rams ranked by Lambplan to have superior genes for lamb production. These rams have an index above the 50 percentile value for all Lambplan recorded Border Leicester sheep.
The Poll Dorset ram selection is also robust and ready to work, with high-performing carcase plus Lambplan figures.
The entire ram offering is Brucellosis accredited, has MN2 status in the Johne's Map and Gudair vaccinated since 2001, and eligible to enter South Australia.
The Jackson Farming team had a solid showing with numerous ribbons at the Australian Sheep and Wool Show at Bendigo in July.
Hamilton Sheepvention, this year saw a convincing win by Two-Dot Border Leicesters in the Maternal Lambplan Production competition with a high indexing pair of rams, with traits in the top 10 percent of Lambplan recorded Border Leicester sheep.
This pairing also came third at the Royal Adelaide Show in the interbreed lamb production maternal class.
A return to the show arena at the Royal Adelaide show, secured a broad ribbon winner with Champion Border Leicester ewe.
This most attractive young Jackson ewe, then took out the prestigious interbreed reservelLong wool ewe title. Two - Dot Station was also in the winners circle, with the Reserve Champion ewe award.
A first in the pair of shorn sheep, and a win in the under one and a half years shorn ram class, with a quality young ram to be offered at the Horsham Border Leicester Sale in November.
