The spring show this year will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 4 and 5 with both days open from 9.30am until till 5pm.
Presented to the public by the Grampians Group of the Australian Plants Society, this show was one of the first native flower shows in Victoria and is still one of the best. The show never ceases to amaze visitors with its colours and scents and diversity and it will feature flowers native to all states of Australia, from the spectacular to the small and pretty.
Hundreds of named flowers will be on display and all picked from members' gardens.
This year the daisy family of flowers (Asteraceae) will be a special feature and will delight garden enthusiasts.
Visitors can also buy from a large range of native plants, many unusual and rarely available.
There will be heavily discounted natural history and gardening books for sale and a local botanical artist in residence will have floral art and craft for sale.
Visitors will also be able to purchase a bunch of native flowers to take home with them.
The show has a disabled access.
The show is held at the Pomonal Hall on the Ararat Road in the centre of the Pomonal township, just ten minutes from Halls Gap.
Entry for adults is $5 and children are free and there will be many lucky door prizes to be won over the two days.
People can make a weekend of it and visit the beautiful Grampians region, a haven for naturalists and tourists.
The Grampians contain more than 1000 species of vascular plants, 18 of which are endemic to the area.
The region is a botanist's delight, glorious in spring with thryptomene, orchids and hundreds of other species jostling for space in the bushland.
There will be a Village Market on the oval and the Halls Gap Wildflower Show will be held on the same weekend at the Halls Gap Botanical Garden.
The Pomonal community will also have a fabulous 'Yarn Bombing' installation in Pomonal at a surprise location.
It will be celebrating beautiful Australian daises and members of the town, young and old will have contributed. Don't miss it!
