In June this year, Stawell women and Eventide staffers Leeanne Nuske and Andrea Monaghan walked 466 kilometres from Leon to Cape Finisterre in Galicia in north-west Spain to raise awareness of Eventide Homes.
Their extraordinary efforts attracted public donations from people far and wide.
Chief executive officer, Sue Blakey said the iPads would help residents to communicate with family and friends through email and social media.
They will also give residents the ability to download audio books, games and online publications.
"Residents will also be able to learn how to research topics of interest and keep up with current affairs," said Ms Blakey.
"This new technology to Eventide will help keep residents' brains stimulated and cause lots of interesting discussion."
Ms Blakey said iPads are now regularly used in aged care to 'jump-start' memory, mobility and social skills that may have deteriorated through age.
"The iPads will also be great for residents who have lost confidence in reading books because of their eyesight," she said.
"Reading a book from an iPad is much easier for older people because they can adjust the type size on the screen to suit. Plus, they'll be able to download a wide range of books."
Ms Blakey said she was very grateful to Leeanne and Andrea for initiating the fundraiser and for everyone who kindly donated to the cause.
