Owner of beauty salon 'Hello Gorgeous Body, Beauty, Skin', Ms Salmi will work with key makeup artist Shane Thomas on the much anticipated production to star Kate Winslet, Judy Davis and Liam Hemsworth.
Based on the novel by Rosalie Ham, The Dressmaker is about a glamorous woman who returns to her small town in rural Australia. With her sewing machine and haute couture style, she transforms the women and exacts sweet revenge on those who did her wrong.
Ms Salmi said she was elated that she was chosen to join the makeup styling team for the Hollywood production.
"When I heard that some scenes in The Dressmaker would be filmed in the Wimmera, I immediately contacted the production team to see if there were any opportunities for me," Ms Salmi said.
"They were really open to chatting with me about how I could get involved. They like to work with local businesses wherever possible, which is great for everyone.
"To have a Hollywood film shot in our local region is a massive deal and I really wanted to be part of it in any way - even just making coffee! To actually be part of the makeup team is so exciting. It's sure to be an unforgettable experience."
Formerly from Perth, Ms Salmi is no stranger to working with celebrities and was part of the makeup team for Channel 7, working on a variety of their drama and live television programs.
She has also led makeup teams for glossy magazine shoots and other commercial photography projects.
