Meeting an in form Kalkee at Balmoral, Swifts have nothing to lose in their first final of 2014.
Coach Ben Martin was excited at the prospect of the first final of the year.
"The boys are very excited," Martin said.
"We've all got that finals feeling, but we need to take the double chance with both hands. You want to take the easiest road in the finals.
"The last couple of games have been really good wins for us.
"Against Harrow and Pimpinio there have been some really good signs. Winning form is good form."
One thing people from the outside are forgetting is that Swifts have already defeated Kalkee once earlier this year when they met in Stawell.
With no home ground advantage and a win apiece it is sure to be a battle for both teams.
"There is a lot of talk around the league that we can't beat them," Martin said.
"We are out to prove that we can. We have done it before and hopefully we can do it again."
Like most sports, when finals arrive there are several players that are disappointed when they are not selected to play.
With the reserves and junior football teams all in finals Martin said that was a huge positive for the club.
"Yes they are disappointed, but they get the chance to go back down to juniors or reserves and prove themselves again," Martin said.
This season has seen the Swifts team change from week to week, but with everyone readily making themselves available this week, they will be as strong as possible.
There is no one player expected to lift his team to victory. Instead, Swifts hope each player can play their role and contribute to a team win.
"More often than not in finals the good players play their usual game and the inconsistent players make all the difference," Martin said.
Kalkee will have more finals experience going into the match and will rely heavily on their core group including Joshua Mibus and Steve Schultz.
"Their players know what it is all about," Martin said.
