Wild weather blew into the state on Thursday prompting severe weather warnings for damaging winds and blizzard conditions across the region.
There were wind gusts of up to 113 kilometres per hour (km/h) at Mount William in the Grampians and Stawell recorded gusts in excess of 70km/h on Thursday afternoon.
The temperature in Stawell struggled to arrive at double figures on Friday and according to the Bureau of Meteorology, it felt as cold as minus 3.4 degrees Celsius, when it was actually three degrees, at 8.30am.
Relief arrived on Saturday as a high pressure system moved in. However, with the daytime warmth came the night time chills.
Morning frosts were widespread as the region endured some of the coldest mornings this winter.
Stawell recorded 10 millimetres of rain last Friday and decent rainfall means the town has now recorded 219.8 millimetres of rain so far this year, just shy of 2013's progressive total of 230.4mm.
