The town recorded more than 10 millimetres of rain over Thursday and Friday, increasing the July monthly total to more than 30 millimetres.
Despite the late week rainfall, Stawell is unlikely to reach its July average of 58.4mm.
Brisk mornings made way for mostly sunny days and temperatures in the low to mid teens at the weekend, a welcome change to the temperatures experienced earlier in the week.
July has been noticeably colder across Stawell and the Bureau of Meteorology has the records to support that.
The town's average daily maximum temperature for the month of July (11.4) is already just more than a degree below the long term average of 12.5 degrees.
Overnight minimums have also been a degree colder than usual this month with the mercury, on average plummeting to 3.1 degrees Celsius.
Stawell endured its coldest morning of the year on Tuesday, July 22 with the mercury plunging to minus 1.4 degrees Celsius.
The morning of Wednesday, July 23 wasn't much warmer with sub zero conditions (-0.9 degrees) also experienced.
The freezing mornings capped off a week of low temperatures which also included the lowest daily maximum of the year, recorded on July 15.
Stawell topped just 8.5 degrees that day and struggled to make double figures for the rest of the week with daytime temperatures averaging 10 degrees Celsius.
