It was a close encounter throughout, with neither team being able to take a real initiative.
Warriors held a slender three goal lead at the main break, but Dimboola hit back in the third term to set up a three goal lead going into the final quarter.
Despite their efforts Stawell were unable to win back the lead and in the end lost out 52-53.
Liza Cook (32) and Taleah Haddow (20) were the top goal shooters for Warriors.
Lisa Fleming took out the Warren Earthworks award and Nadia Bunge the Nash Hotel award.
Warriors C graders bounced back after suffering their first loss for the season the previous round with an impressive 44-18 win over Dimboola.
The C graders set up the win early leading 27-6 at half time and while being outscored in the third quarter, posted a good win.
Toni Stewart (27) was the top goal shooter for Warriors and received the Deepcore Drilling award, while Abby Kaczynski won the Byron Family/Subway award.
In the B grade clash Warriors were also in control and they finished with a 59-36 victory.
Jodie Hendy took out the Westlift Cranes/Subway award and Sarah Morris received the Perrys Footwear award.
Top goal shooters for Stawell were Michaela Armer (36) and Jemima Bibby (23).
Warriors under 13s, who now sit in third spot on the ladder struck with a big 40-6 win over Dimboola.
A big second quarter saw Warriors in control at the main break leading 17-2.
Tess Marrow received the Gold Reef award and Kasey Mornane the Subway award and they were also the leading goal scorers, shooting 18 and 22 goals respectively.
The only loss for Warriors on the day was in the under 15 A going down 25-36.
Scores were level in this match at half time and Dimboola held a slender three goal lead at the last break, but in the final term Dimboola broke away.
There were no matches in the 17 and under and under 15 B divisions, with Dimboola not fielding teams.
