Just as impressive as her will to win, is the will of the Stawell and surrounding community to do all it can to ensure that happens.
Now living in Ballarat, Mrs Scott said 12 months ago she could never have imagined the position she would find herself in today.
She was happily married and working full time, an active mother of two young children.
Today, she is a stay-at-home mum undergoing chemotherapy treatment after being diagnosed with metastatic bowel cancer.
"We had plans to move to Adelaide but I need to put 110 percent of my focus into the 12 cycles of chemotherapy," she said.
In the face of doctor's prognosis' that give her between two and five years to live, the 27-year-old has a steely resolve to stay positive.
"I just need to think about what I have to live for, because I have so much to live for," she said.
"I still get up in the morning, look in the mirror and tell myself I haven't got cancer, because I don't feel like I have cancer."
A driving force for such positivity is her husband, Ben and two sons, seven-year-old Harvey and four-year-old Archie.
"Harvey understands it, we have shared time reading some books about it and both boys have adapted to helping me around home," she said.
"I am not going to be someone who just sits on the couch and waits around to drop dead," she said.
The massive outpouring of community support for Mrs Scott will reach new heights when a Family Fun Day is held at the Stawell Racecourse in August.
Between 11am and 4pm on Sunday, August 3, people of all ages are being encouraged to head along and make a difference as part of the Belinda Scott Appeal.
Band 'No Plan' and disc jockey 'Pure Vibes' will be providing music with a sausage sizzle, cake stall and mini market to feed hungry mouths.
There will also be a jumping castle, mini zoo, face painting and appearances by Iggle Piggle and Peppa Pig.
One of the organisers, Bree Pickering will even brave the razor and shave her head in honour of her close friend.
"She is a very good friend and this is something that means a lot to me," Mrs Pickering said.
"Thank you to the people that have already donated. Thanks to everyone's generosity, we've already raised more than $22,000."
Mrs Scott said it is likely the money raised will go towards her efforts to seek treatments in far away places including Germany and China.
She has also paid tribute to her close friend (Mrs Pickering), who has led the fundraising charge.
"Bree is one of those people that will do absolutely anything for anyone," she said.
"She has a big heart, just like most of the Stawell community, which along with people from Ballarat have been so supportive.
"Myself and my family have been overwhelmed by the wishes and kind words of people. It is hard to describe the level of support, but from the bottom of our hearts, thank you."
Cost of entry to the Family Fun Day is $25 for families, $10 for singles, while youngsters under the age of three enter for free.
