Frewstal is already recognised as the largest employer in Stawell and with these new $2.1 million expansions, which has allowed the company to expand its export opportunities into Asia, employee numbers are set to soar to beyond 500.
The abattoir has come a long way since it first became a Halal accredited site four years ago.
This accreditation complemented Frewstal’s move into the export market and allowed it to expand its horizons both locally and overseas.
Owner and managing director, Robert Frew, never contemplated stopping there and his vision, combined with the hard work of his management team and staff at Frewstal, has seen the abattoir grow almost beyond anyone’s belief.
With further market expansions to the Middle East and China on the drawing board, who know just how big Frewstal will become?
One thing is for sure, the abattoir will always be recognised as an important part of Stawell’s past, present and future.
