According to the Bureau of Meteorology Stawell's June 2014 daily mean maximum temperature of 13.3 degrees Celsius is equivalent to the long term average.
Stawell only failed to climb into the double figures on two occasions last month with the lowest daily maximum of 9.1 degrees Celsius recorded on June 19.
The highest daily maximum of 16 degrees was reached early in the month (June 7), while the lowest overnight minimum of 2.1 degrees occurred just a day earlier (June 6).
Overnight minimums were 1.5 degrees Celsius above the long term average of 4.7 degrees at 6.2 degrees.
The monthly rainfall total of 66 millimetres is almost 12 millimetres above the long term average (54.6mm) and the highest recorded total for the month of June since 2009 when 67.4 millimetres fell in rain gauges across town.
The highest 24-hour rain total came on June 21 when 13.6 millimetres was recorded.
Stawell has had consistently good June rainfall totals since 2012 with readings at or close to the long term average each year.
The wet winter trend has flowed on into July with damp and overcast conditions shadowing light to moderate falls on most days.
Stawell recorded 174.8 millimetres of rain in the first six months of the year, still 38.6 millimetres below the long term average.
This is due mainly to the particularly hot and dry start to the year.
