The new flagpole, which was initiated and funded by the late Vic White, was celebrated by residents and staff at the aged care facility at a special flag raising ceremony.

Board Chair Roger Warne spoke of the generosity of Mr White, his vision for the flagpole and provided background on the history of the Australian flag and its meaning to people.

Mr Warne welcomed a group of guests to the flag raising ceremony, including members of Mr White's family.

The flag was raised by Warne House resident Syd Gregory after local musician Carmel Phelan performed the Australian National Anthem.
