Gift had a stellar regular season, losing just one game, but they came unstuck when they met second placed Hemley's in the grand final.

After meeting each other in the qualifying final less than two weeks earlier, Gift would have gone in confident despite missing their number one and the season's Most Valuable Player, Grace Bibby.

Christine Graveson was the lucky player to get the call up to be the replacement and did a fantastic job.

Playing in a new look team Graveson led her charges to a handy two point lead at half time.

Hemley's had been the better performed team in the opening half, but they allowed Gift back into the contest.

Kristy Matthews was the top scorer for Hemley's assisting them to a 34-28 win while Abby Kaczynski was the most valuable player in the final scoring 11 points and causing several turnovers.

Maggie Clough was the only player from Gift to score double figures with 10 points.
