Swifts started the game poorly before dominating in the second quarter to have a lead of six goals at the main break.
Again the Swifts fell away in the third quarter to allow Rupanyup back into the match.
Down by just four goals going into the final term, Rupanyup came out firing, but the combination of Emily Patterson and Melinda Beal halted the comeback attempt by the Panthers. Swifts finished with a well fought 34-28 victory.
It was a different story in the B grade when they went down 19-35.
Poor shooting proved costly for Swifts as they had many opportunities to convert and didn't.
Bec McDonald was the best player on the court for Swifts having played three good quarters in the mid court.
Isabella Robson and Tayla Lembo were also standouts in defence.
Swifts C grade were the most convincing winners of the day winning 44-14.
Emily Davis earned herself best on after running four quarters of centre out while dynamic duo Jane Johnston and Caitlin Holden were hard to beat in defence.
Johnston also tried her luck in the attacking ring in the final quarter and despite a good quarter for her team she failed to score.
It was a nailbiting affair in the under 17s with Swifts going down by just one goal.
Again it was defenders Madi Rutter and Taryn Wynd who were awarded the best on court honours.
Swifts had a poor start losing the first quarter 4-10, but came back in the second to make it difficult for Rupanyup.
The final score was Swifts 23 defeated by Rupanyup 24.
It was a trying day for the younger players with the under 15s struggling in the wet conditions.
They won 26-12, but the rain and low temperatures didn't make it easy for them.
Darcy Lembo was awarded best on court for her game in wing attack while Claudia Jasper's game in goal attack saw her named second best.
Both the under 13s and C grade reserves had the week off due to Rupanyup not fielding a side.
