It has been months in the making, but tomorrow afternoon and evening will be a time for celebrations for the club - 100 years of football.
A small, but hard working sub-committee has been busy preparing for the celebrations, forced to source the history of the club after much of the club history was destroyed in a fire.
Swifts Football Netball Club president, Robert Carey praised the hard work of the people preparing the club history.
He said the public response to the centenary celebrations had been magnificent and he expected more than 350 people will attend the centenary celebrations in the Stawell Entertainment Centre tomorrow night.
The club has incorporated into the centenary celebrations a reunion for both the club's senior and reserves premierships and the 2004 reserves premiership.
"It will be a big night of celebrations," Mr Carey said.
He said to assist with the celebrations match times for tomorrow's matches against Rupanyup had been changed.
"Rupanyup do not field an under 17 team in the competition, so this has allowed us to change the starting times of the other three matches, so the day flows into the evening celebrations," he said.
At North Park tomorrow the under 14 match will commence at 10.05am, the reserves at 12.05pm and the senior match at 2pm. The normal starting time for the senior clash is 2.30pm.
The evening celebrations will commence at the Stawell Entertainment Centre at 6pm.
The 1994 senior and reserves premiership teams and the 2004 reserves premiership team will be presented at 7pm.
From 7.30pm until 8pm the club will announced its post war, South Wimmera Football League team. This will be followed at 8.30pm with the announcement of the club's Ararat District Football Association team followed by the club's Horsham District Football League team at 8.30pm. The club's Hall of Fame announcement will be made at 9pm.
Mr Carey said the club would endeavour to stay within these time frames to allow celebrations to continue into the night.
