- Friends of Big Hill members came together last Sunday, to share their concerns about the proposed open cut mining of Big Hill.

A sunset celebration was held on top of Big Hill, to air concerns over the open cut proposal and concerns of health issues.

- Legendary Great Western winemaker, Viv Thomson and Halls Gap Reverend Margaret Russell, have been honoured in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.

Both Mr Thomson and Reverend Russell have been presented with the Order of Australia Medal.

What's on:  Ash Dark in conjuction with Stawell Warriors Football Netball Club are hosting a Arbonne Party as a fundraising event for local charity Adoptable.

Adoptable focus' on re homing animals around Stawell and supporting other rescue groups around Victoria.

Arbonne hair, body and skin care, as well as cosmetics will be available for purchase on the night.

The event will be held at the Stawell Warriors club rooms tonight from 7pm with Coffee/Tea, cold drinks and some nibbles provided.
