Over the past 12 months the YAC has held successful community events in Stawell and St Arnaud, undertaken two major projects and held regular meetings to discuss solutions to the problems facing young people living in the Northern Grampians.
Lauren Dempsey was elected as the group's new chairperson, while Lily Matheson was appointed secretary. Harriet Madams and Titian Linley were elected vice president and assistant secretary respectively.
Ms Dempsey said the group was proud of its achievements to date.
"It's been a really busy year for us and we feel like we've done a lot in a short amount of time", she said.
"The events we've held in both Stawell and St Arnaud have been well received which is pleasing as it encourages us to keep working towards solutions that will make the Northern Grampians an exciting place for young people to be.
"The whole community has been so supportive of us in our events and projects and we hope to see this continue because we've got a lot of exciting things planned for our next term."
The YAC is currently working on developing the shire's very first Youth Strategy which will be used by the group and Council to continue work on issues affecting young people in the shire.
The strategy is due for completion in September 2014.
