-Northern Grampians Shire Council continues to seek clarification from the Environmental Effects Statement Panel over impacts the proposed Big Hill Enhanced Development Project may have on Stawell.

Council voted at a special meeting on Monday night in favour of adopting a briefing paper that had previously been presented on the project, as the basis of its submission to Planning Panels Victoria on the EES process.

-Only a couple of vacancies remain following the successful introduction of a three-year-old kindergarten program in Stawell that commenced in term two.

Taylors Gully Children's Centre has been running the program every Tuesday from 9am until 1pm in the multipurpose room.

-More than a shade of pink emerged from the dense and heavy fog that shrouded participants who took part in Stawell's inaugural Mother's Day Classic on Sunday.

It was a sense of community and shared motivation that ensured the event was a fun and meaningful way to spend Sunday morning.

-Stawell Westlift Warriors will look to extend Dimboola's losing streak when they meet this weekend in round five of the Wimmera Football League.

The reigning premiers have had a tough start to the season and are winless to date. However, the Roos are yet to be completely wiped off the park so for Stawell, victory is no certainty.

What's On:  

The Under 13 Football Association will play their third round of competition tonight.

The Grampians Grease Monkeys Hotrod Club's 'Cruise for Sophie' will take place tomorrow.

The fundraising event will feature a number of classic cars, hot rods and other special vehicles and the convoy will spend the day travelling across the region with plenty of fun ensured.

After lunch in Pomonal the group will then head to Stawell for a stop at the Picker's Market.
