Only a couple of vacancies remain following the successful introduction of a three-year-old kindergarten program in Stawell that commenced in term two.
Taylors Gully Children's Centre has been running the program every Tuesday from 9am until 1pm in the multipurpose room. Morning tea and lunch is provided.
Northern Grampians Shire Council announced an expansion to preschool education in Stawell earlier this year.
Council's Manager Economic Growth, Debbie Bach said there had already been high demand for the new program with just a couple of vacancies to be filled.
"We have received a fantastic response to the new three-year-old program," Mrs Bach said.
"It has only been operating for a few weeks, but we already have 12 children enrolled and just three vacancies available."
Mrs Bach said the program operates from Taylors Gully's multipurpose room and is designed to assist children to transition through the learning and development process.
"It's all about providing a seamless learning experience for local children and their families," she said.
"We want to make our service as convenient as possible and have a variety of education and childcare options available under one roof - that includes our new program, three playrooms and the local Maternal and Child Health service."
Mrs Bach said the introduction of a four-year-old kinder program in 2015 would further enhance continuity of care at the Centre.
