Hayley O'Neill has come up with a plan to gather as many children's books as she can and read them to the kindergarten youngsters, providing them with far greater variety than they currently have access to.
Ms O'Neill said she wanted to provide the children with a new range of reading material.
"I need families to donate children's books which they no longer use," Ms O'Neill said.
"Really, I need everyone's help to make this project work."
Ms O'Neill is planning to attend Cooinda Kindergarten once a week for an entire school term, to read children's books to the children.
Once the school term ends, Ms O'Neill will be handing over all donated books to the kindergarten for the children to continue reading.
Any member of the public who would like to donate children's books they no longer require, can place them into the Children's Book Donation Box located in the office at the Stawell Secondary College.
