Water was released into Fyans in time for the busy Easter period, which proved a major drawcard for visitors to the region.
Management has been one one many parties lobbying GWM Water for some time to have water released into Lake Fyans.
They were pleasantly surprised to that after recent contact with local groups and politicians, a recent phone call from GWM Water to the park management confirmed that water will be released over the next month into the lake, bringing the capacity held at Fyans up to 16,000 megalitres.
Thgis will bring the lake, which is capable of holding 17,450ML, up to just above 90% of capacity.
Lake Fyans Holiday Park hosted a number of activities and fundraising events over the Easter period to entertain guests and with these water levels allowing easier access from the boat ramp into the lake, the decision to release water at the busiest time of the year could not have come at a better time according to management.
They believe it will showcase to visitors the majestic wonder that locals have known for years, encouraging a return to the region.
"The backdrop of the Grampian mountain ranges behind the lake is one of nature's many wonders to be seen in the area."
