CKS Swifts met Edenhope-Apsley at North Park and impressed their home crowd for the third consecutive week.

Edenhope-Apsley kicked with a slight wind advantage in the first quarter, which assisted them to a three point lead at the first break.

CKS Swifts had more of the ball, but were unable to convert on the scoreboard and Edenhope-Apsley cashed in on a couple of skill errors.

The Baggies lifted their intensity in the second term and it started to reflect on the scoreboard, giving them a 22 point lead at the main break.

Coaches Paul Hanns and Ben Martin remained positive at half time reminding the boys to focus on a team game, not burning their mates, and not over using the football.

During the third quarter, the CKS Swifts midfielders lacked accountability, meaning the ball was entering the opposition forward 50 a little easier than they would have liked.

Luckily for the CKS Swifts the back six were up to the challenge.

The defence stood strong and were consistently rebounding the ball and pushing forward.

The conditions made it hard for both teams with a strong swirling wind playing havoc, with the kicking efficiency of both teams making it almost impossible to maintain possession.

The final quarter saw the reoccurrence of the fade out for the Baggies.

Swifts lost the final term, but like recent weeks, they had already done enough to see them victorious.

"We didn't finish as strong as we would have liked kicking two goals to their three," Paul Hanns said.

CKS Swifts, along with Laharum and Harrow Balmoral, remain the only teams that are undefeated after three rounds.

For Swifts Aaron Chavasse was the best on ground from the full back position.

Chavasse played his role in defence before pushing into the ruck and finding his own footy.

Ricky Whitehead also spent time in the ruck trying to fill the void of missing big man Matt Healy before being moved to centre half back where he was a steady influence.

Youngster Damon Folkes enjoyed his run on the wing getting plenty of the ball and finishing with three goals.

First gamer Luke Mitchell also finished with three goals and had a presence around the ground that allowed the young players to run and break lines.

"Overall it wasn't a pretty game but the boys got the job done," Hanns said.

"Conditions also made it difficult so it was a good result for us all things considered."

Swifts finished the game 11.8.74 defeating Edenhope-Apsley 8.8.56.
