Susie was on hand to sign copies of her children's books, Jumping Jack Jones and Playing Possum.
Storytime was conducted on Wednesday night, giving youngsters an opportunity to listen to Jumping Jack Jones. There were upwards of 30 children in attendance for the reading.
Susie also read Playing Possum, her latest book and very first book, which is now in its second re-print in just over two years.
There was also an impromptu acted out story, which the children enjoyed, as it was made up as Susie went along and was told in the vein of stories told at bedtime.
Helen Leach and Susie signed books, adding little personal greetings for all who attended. Many visitors purchased multiple books.
Grant Thomas made an inspired speech to launch both books and as usual had everyone laughing.
Susie and Helen and the crew also attended Red Rock in Horsham last Friday and then The Gifted Wombat in Stawell on Saturday morning to sign and sell copies of the books.
Susie said she was delighted with the support.
"Many Stawell people drove out to the Gap to enjoy the launch and we also had local and visiting families," she said.
"Mt Langi Ghiran poured a lovely wine which went down well with savouries."
Susie was back in Halls Gap yesterday, hosting a writers workshop at MOCO Gallery, as she encouraged locals to dip their toe into book creation.
"Even small runs of 10 or so books for a family history can be greatly rewarding," Susie said.
In the afternoon, participants wrote a short blog and posted it on ABC Open - a first for many who have never been published before.
Today, Helen Leach will be hosting a pastel workshop at MOCO Gallery to help even the rawest beginner create beautiful artwork.
All materials are supplied and lunch can be purchased at the gallery. Susie will be joining this class and is looking forward to creating her very first pastel painting.
Bookings for today's session can be made at the MOCO Gallery in Halls Gap.
