Stawell's Cato Park hit by vandals

Stawell Police are investigating a spate of damage at Cato Park.

New works surrounding the lake were targeted by vandals on two separate occasions.

Constable Aaron Chavasse said damage was caused to new irrigation that was placed at the park near the Sloane Street carpark.

Offenders dug up the irrigation systems last Tuesday night. They were repaired by Northern Grampians Shire Council parks and gardens staff, but were dug up again on the Wednesday night.

Both offences occurred between 9pm and 7am.

Anyone with information in relation to the damage is asked to contact Stawell Police on 5358 8222.

Police are seeking an owner for a length of compressor air hose, which was found on April 1.

The air hose, blue in colour, was found on the Stawell-Avoca Road.

Anyone who may have lost a length of compressor air hose is asked to contact police on 5358 8222 or call into the Stawell Police Station.
