A woman has died following a head on collision near Stawell this afternoon.

Police believe the two cars collided on the Western Highway, two kilometres from Stawell, around 1pm.
The female passenger in one vehicle died at the scene and the male driver of that car has been taken to the Alfred hospital in a critical condition.
The female driver of the second vehicle has been taken to Stawell hospital for observation.
Two children, who were passengers, received minor injuries and have been taken to Royal Children’s Hospital.
