The event will feature Australia's widely celebrated starlet, Katie Noonan.
The Pyrenees Music Festival, now planned for later this year, is shaping up to be an incredible weekend in which some of Australia's most celebrated artists will visit the Pyrenees to perform for local crowds. The headline acts will be announced shortly and the team are confident that once the local community knows just who is coming to their backyard, tickets to the festival will sell very quickly!
In the meantime, the festival team wanted to introduce its Artistic Director, Ms Noonan, to the Pyrenees community and saw no better way of doing so than by bringing her to the heart of rural Victoria for a very special and intimate performance.
The evening tomorrow will feature Ms Noonan, who is incredibly excited to be sharing her music with the local community, and allow her to meet the locals before she directs the festival later this year.
Bookings are essential for the cabaret evening (tickets are $35 per head), with organisers confident that the event will sell out.
"Nights like this are incredibly popular with the large number of Pyrenees and Stawell/Ararat ex-pats," Festival Director Darren Vance said.
"Those who grew up in the region view these evenings as a great opportunity to return home, catch up with old mates and support events which celebrate the communities we came from."
Darren said that amongst the ex-pat group, there remains great love and enthusiasm for our local communities.
"It's a hugely positive reflection on these communities that for decades after someone has moved away, they continue to come 'home' year after year, and continue to consider themselves a 'local' of the region."
The festival team is bursting with excitement over the up-coming concert.
"To have a star of this calibre and fame coming out to Landsborough to perform in our hall is incredibly exciting for us as presenters," Darren said.
"We are both honoured and humbled that Katie is so supportive of this festival of ours and it will be a very proud moment as we welcome her to the Landsborough stage."
