Taking advantage of having 30 family stay for the weekend for a Cochrane family reunion, Joyce's sisters Margaret and Joan adorned them in 'finest recycled items', read a poem penned by niece Deb, then presented the couple with land titles for a token one foot square of land each in Glen Coe, Scotland. This entitles them, if they wish, to take the titles of Lord and Lady Sachse.
A special flag, incorporating Joyce's Scottish heritage and Leon's German heritage, was designed and presented, while a castle cake which had flying Scottish and German flags on it, was cut.
After the cake cutting, the champagne flowed to toast the couple, before a procession to the flag pole for the raising of the new flag.
Those who attended were also able to view three boards of photographs.
