GCA - Youth Club's horror start to the Grampians Cricket Association A grade season has continued after slumping to its third successive loss at the weekend.
Up against a depleted Swifts/Great Western outfit, Youth Club stumbled early with Matt Delzotto falling victim to Marc Brilliant for no runs and Todd Matthews was bowled out by Louis Martin for just four.
Steve Le Gassick teamed up with Jamie Solyom with the pair finding some much needed form.
They tried valiantly to lift the run rate, with Le Gassick smacking two fours before being caught by Louis Martin on 21 while Solyom reached 44.
Robert Scott (24 not out) fought hard but ran out of batting partners as Youth Club was bundled all out for 122.
Gary Ranton (3/15) was best of the Combine bowlers on the Central Park wicket.
In reply, Swifts/Great Western made 3/125 and reached the target set with four overs to spare.
Travis Nicholson (44) and Nic Clough (31) led the way, while Sam Cocks chipped in with 22 runs.
Harry Ganley claimed 3/9 and Jack Fraser posted a half century to help Buangor defeat Aradale at Aradale Oval. Matt Stasse (47) was Aradale's leading run scorer and Mitch Cronin (23) contributed to Aradale's 9/159.
In form batsmen Fraser (59), Shaun Allen (43) and Harry Ganley (32) hit out for the visitors, who cruised to 6/170 in reply.
Tatyoon was in control in its one day match against Pomonal at Pomonal.
Captain Jarred Blandford (58) and Darren Beer (44) caused headaches for the Tigers bowlers as the visitors reached 7/165.
Pomonal struggled in response, with Michael Harricks (3/17) and Henry Armstrong (2/8) ripping through the lineup to dismiss the Tigers for 116.
