STAWELL - There will be a fabulous attraction in the main arena at the Stawell Show next week when Stawell Pony Club members perform their Superheroes Musical Ride.
Tessa O'Callaghan, Jade Allen and Oscar and Olivia Cole won the 2013 Midland Zone PCAV Musical Ride State Qualifier and they will perform their winning routine to music during the lunch break in the Horse Show rings.
Judging in the Horse Show commences at 9am. A wide range of classes are offered with rings for Ponies, Hacks, Breeds, HRCAV and Pony Club, and Showjumping. This year there are two new events in the Horse Program.
An Open Six Bar Showjumping class has been added to the Stawell Petstock Showjumping competition and this is expected to be a very popular event.
In the Hack Ring the Off The Track Series has been introduced. This class is open to all thoroughbreds four years and over, unraced or raced. All qualifying winners gain automatic entry into the Off The Track Series Final to be held at the 2014 VAS Ltd Saddle Horse Championships on Saturday, January 4 2014.
The Off The Track Series is an initiative by Racing Victoria, intended to showcase the versatility of the racehorse and promote its suitability for the show ring post racing. The judge will be looking for a good example of a thoroughbred rather than riding horse/hunter types, and will take into consideration thoroughbred qualities, conformation, manners, pace andperformance. Injuries caused through racing such as blemishes are allowed.
A large range of generous sponsors enables an extensive range of classes to be offered in the Stawell Show Horse Program.
This year the Champion Open Hack will win a trophy cane donated by Elite Canes and Browbands who will also display their range of products at the Show.
The sponsors for all classes are listed in the Horse Schedule.
