STAWELL - Year 11 and 12 VCE studio art students from Stawell Secondary College will showcase their talent at an art exhibition at the Stawell Railway Station Gallery this weekend.
The four year 12 students - Ben Allan, Michelle Teeken, Letesha Stephens and Mitch Pridan will be on hand opening night to answer any questions about their varied pieces between 5pm and 6pm Friday.
The works will then be available to view across the weekend between 10am and 4pm at the gallery at 2 Napier Street, Stawell.
Michelle's piece, which is a drawing of five high-profile women, displays hyper-feminity within society and how it affects women physically and psychologically.
Mitch's hand and globe is a portrayal of human dominance and control. It displays a corporate hand reaching for the world from a pile of money.
Ben's rather large canvas is a striking statement of terror and despair while Letesha's creation shows the emotional attachment of two very important people in her life - her mother and sister.
Ms Teeken said the gallery gives the four of them the chance to go full circle with the major works they will submit as part of their final assessment.
"A piece of art is all the work you put in, but it isn't really complete until it's been on display," she said.
