STAWELL - Pigs may not be able to fly, but a 700kg one landed in Stawell last Friday with the return of the Very Special Kids Piggy Bank Appeal.
Landing at the Commonwealth Bank in Main Street, the appeal was again well supported by the Stawell community, who in the past have generously donated and ensured the charity can continue its work in the region.
Residents were encouraged to purchase merchandise, meet 'Oink' the mascot and join in on the celebrations of this year's Piggy Bank Appeal.
"This year marks our 16th year of travelling the state and each year the support we receive from the people of Stawell continues to grow," Dr Sarah Hosking, CEO of Very Special Kids said.
"Very Special Kids currently provides free of charge services to at least one family in the Stawell area and we hope to be able to continue this vital work moving forward."
