REGION - The 2013 Melbourne Gluten Free Expo will have all sorts of gluten free treats, even gluten free beer and cider, at Melbourne Exhibition Centre this weekend.
Coeliac Victoria and Tasmania has confirmed this Saturday and Sunday for its second annual Gluten Free Expo and Conference.
Executive Officer Jane Davies said last year's event had been such a success that this year it will be expanded in both size and duration, including a special two-day discounted ticket.
"There were such big crowds last year that we had to go to two days and move to the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, Southbank to accommodate them," she said.
"With only a handful of stands left to sell, we will have literally hundreds of gluten free products from a wide variety of manufacturers.
"We're expecting many of last year's patrons to return, plus many more, to discover, taste, buy and learn about all the great gluten free products available.
"We have an amazing variety of products from suppliers large and small - including fantastic ranges from our sponsors Coles, Well & Good, Tasty Bite and Simply Wize.
"Above all, the expo proves that a gluten free diet can still offer a feast of delicious foods to suit every taste from gourmet treats to hearty home-cooked comfort food."
The Gluten Free Expo and Conference also delivers non-stop action from the Coles Cooking Stage, the Conference Theatrette and the kids' activity area sponsored by Springhill Farm.
Kids will have plenty to keep them entertained, with face painting, craft, gluten free party food and the chance to decorate (and eat!) gluten free treats.
The Coles Cooking Stage will present a mouth-watering array of gluten free dishes featuring popular Masterchef contestants Michael Weldon and Courtney Roulston.
The second annual Melbourne Gluten Free Expo will be open both days this weekend from 9.30am to 4pm. Tickets to the expo are available through the Stawell Times News/Ararat Advertiser. Simply call into the Stawell Times News at 58 Main Street or the Ararat Advertiser at 3 Ligar Street to register your interest.
