STAWELL - Jill McInerney was at the top of her class in the Stawell Golf ladies stroke monthly medal last Wednesday.
After a rain-affected month, the ladies were finally able to hit the greens to contest the stroke and silver spoon events.
McInerney finished with 92/19/73 to win division (1) honours and claim the Town Hall Hotel sponsored spoils for August.
Lyn Willcock was division (1) runner up with a return of 91/17/74.
Eunice Balle topped division (2) with 96/23/73 from Jan Alborough, who returned after a long lay off to receive runner up honours with 106/25/81.
Dot Russell picked up the silver spoon from Chris Trickey, Marianne Mitchell and Del Gray.
Nearest to the pin winners were Joan Fletcher on the Albright Metal Recyclers sixth hole, Joan MacPherson won on the Harry's Brake and Clutch ninth, Marg Hall took out the HiWay 8 Motel 13th and Dot Russell saluted on the New Hong Kong 17th.
Tomorrow the ladies will step out to contest a pairs medley event, sponsored by Stawell Lotto.

A reminder to players that the Stawell Golf ladies annual general meeting will be held tomorrow, commencing at 2pm.
This Friday, September 6 players are invited to come and join Mildura's Riverside Golf Club for a fourball best ball stableford open day. Cost is $15 including nibbles.
