STAWELL - Alastair Marriott became the thirtieth member of karate club Crescendo Walsh Dojos, to win the Stawell perpetual achiever award.
Marriott received the award for 2013 for his dedication, loyalty and willingness to commit to training.
He has so far exceeded training requirements, participating in seven classes a week while other members normally attend two.
Alastair is in the senior class and also trains as an assistant instructor.
The 23 year old currently holds his green belt and has three gradings in the next two years before receiving his black belt and instructor status.
Marriott accepted the award from last year's winner and fellow club member, Hannah.
In other club news, a number of junior Crescendo Walsh Dojos members received their yellow and orange belts.
Karate instructor, Percy Walsh, said it was a good grading and was pleased with the results.
New members of Crescendo Walsh Dojos are always accepted.
Classes are in Stawell two nights a week, on Mondays and Thursdays from 5.30-7pm (juniors aged six and above) and seniors from 7-8.30pm (teenagers and above).
