Klaus 'Wombat' Halper at the Diamond House

STAWELL - Klaus 'Wombat' Halper will perform at the Diamond House Heritage Restaurant and Motor Inn this Friday.

Wombat 'Keep the Faith' is a relatively new act launched in Australia dedicated to Dutch Tilders, a world acclaimed Singer, Songwriter and Guitarist who died of cancer in 2011.

Halper performs a familiar rendition of Dutch's blues style, well researched and remembered through his sharing of their close friendship on and off the stage.

Blended with sensitive, humorous lyrics and authentic licks, learned from Dutch Tilders, the new act adds catchy blues originals written and composed and also performed by Klaus.

Audiences have described past performances as warm and welcoming.

Wom as he is affectionately known, joined his first band at age 17 in 1978.

He first met the Godfather of Australian Blues, Dutch Tilders in 1981.

Throughout the eighties Wom worked for a number of Australian and overseas artists in many capacities.

This list includes Stevie Nicks, ZZTop, Dire Straits, Midnight Oil, Swanee and performed for Princess Diana and Prince Charles.

Wom returned to the music scene after a brief break to the country to start a family in the late eighties.

He went along with Tilders to perform at the odd show from 2005 to 2006 and hasn't looked back.

Klaus 'Wombat' Halper will entertain this Friday night at the Diamond House Restaurant which now also has a new menu.
