STAWELL - As football fans gear up for a new AFL season, there are some still basking in the mixed fortunes from the end of last season.
Janita Perry of Perry's Shoes is an ardent Hawthorn supporter.
Equally football mad is Sydney Swans fan Barry Wright, who is the New South Wales agent for Ron Clarke and Sons.
Wright made a pact with Perry that if Hawthorn made it to the grand final then he would make her a special pair of fashion boots.
Hawthorn happened to make it to that one day in September last year along with Sydney.
When Sydney came out on top Perry was worried Wright may present her with red and white coloured boots instead of some in her own team's colours.
This wasn't the case, true to his word Wright designed the boots which were decorated in Hawthorn colours as part of a Katie n Me collection.
While the grand final result didn't impress Perry, the boots certainly have.
