A petition containing over 600 signatures in favour of changing of the Stawell leisure Complex pool opening hours was presented to councillors at the most recent Northern Grampians Shire council meeting.
STAWELL - A petition about the opening hours of the Stawell Leisure Complex indoor and outdoor pools has been presented to councillors at the most recent Northern Grampians Shire council meeting.
The petition which contains 616 signatures called for the opening hours of the pools be reverted back to what they were before the new year, 6am to 8pm on weekdays and 1pm to 6pm on weekends and public holidays.
Signatories and ratepayers have expressed concern at the effect the current hours have on the users of the pools.
Cr Kevin Erwin said Northern Grampians Shire Council is looking to improve the current set of circumstances.
"There certainly has been some problems with the bill and I think every councillor would like to see it run better," he said.
"There is a report coming to council, hopefully by the next council meeting.
"It is certainly something council is working on and we'll try and make it better.
Cr Karen Hyslop said council will be looking to address the staffing issues shortly.
"We are going to review this in two weeks time," she said.
