Bumper numbers at Stawell line dancing

STAWELL - The Stawell Senior Citizens Line Dancers are enjoying bumper numbers as they gear up for their annual social.

President of the Senior Citizens Club Jeanette Ekman said the group was looking forward to the upcoming event.

"Our social on March 16 is to celebrate our seventh birthday, with all proceeds to go to Stawell oncology," she said.

"We have an amazing number of dancers and I can safely say outside of the cities that is the biggest number of dancers in the state."

Line dancing is held at the Senior Citizens Hall in Victoria street every Tuesday night and Thursday morning.

Classes for the Intermediate dancers on Tuesday night are held between 6pm and 7pm while beginners take to the hall between 7pm and 8pm.

Classes for beginners on Thursday morning are held between 9am and 10am while intermediate dancers hit the floor between 10am and 11am.

Vice-President Raie Gale said anyone is welcome.
