STAWELL - In the division (1) preliminary final, Ararat downed Stawell Golf by four shots and earned the right to play Chalambar in tomorrow's grand final.
The Kaczynski family had a big bearing on this result.
Stawell Golf's David played brilliant bowls to help Bryan Adamson edge out Richard Fisher by the odd shot and brother Brendan set the win up for Ararat with a 10 shot win over Gary Blackman.
However, it was father Peter who sealed the match with the last bowl of the day, when a draw was looking likely.
Greg Reading won the match by six shots and Bruce Blenheim and Mick Dowd had a titanic struggle before the Ararat side got over the line by one shot.
Congratulations to the Stawell Bowling Club - all players were impressed with the green and the club can certainly look forward to many more final matches in the future.
