Mr Johnson rode in on his unicycle and took part in a pushcart challenge against some of the students.
He also took the microphone to address the students on why he is riding a unicycle around Australia and accepted questions about the mission.
Samuel's mission is to cycle 15,000 kilometres around Australia to raise $1 million for breast cancer research.
He has titled the ride his Love Your Sister journey, with inspiration coming from his sister Connie, who has been diagnosed with terminal breast cancer.
Samuel said he had already had a lot of fun cycling from Melbourne to Stawell and before long, would be tackling the desert through central Australia.
"I know I am going to find that very tough, but I just have to keep focused and keep going," he said.
Questions asked of Samuel by the students ranged from how much water he needs to consume each day, to whether or not he rides at night and if trucks on the highway scared him as they approached.
Samuel's Love Your Sister unicycle journey will head through Victoria, South Australia, Northern Territory, Western Australia, New South Wales and Queensland, as well as towns and local communities along the way.
All funds raised will be donated to the Garvan Research Foundation, a world leader in breast cancer research, and the Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group, which provides financial assistance and emotional support to cancer patients and their families.
In addition to breaking the world record for the most distance travelled on a unicycle, Samuel will be going up Mt Kosciusko, Ayres Rock and down into Lake Eyre as well as performing a series of 'challenges' set by the general public throughout his journey.
"When we sat down to plan this journey, there were only two ways I could break the record, on a unicycle, or a pogo stick," Samuel said.
"My natural feeling was to go for the unicycle.
"If me getting on a unicycle and slogging it out across the bumpy roads of Australia on a unicycle reminds women to feel their breasts for any lumps and bumps, then it will absolutely be worth it.
"In any case, sitting on a unicycle seat for a year should definitely prove that I truly love my sister."
Students at Stawell West took the opportunity to assist with Samuel's fundraising effort, dressing in pink and making a gold coin donation towards the cause.
