Steal A Deal Day hits the streets Friday in Stawell

STAWELL - Shoppers in Stawell and district have a chance to join in the annual shopping frenzy, when Steal A Deal Day hits the streets of Stawell this Friday.

For many years the day was known as Crazy Day, but in consultation with the Stawell traders it was decided a name change for the day would be appropriate.

Now it is Steal and Deal Day and Stawell will have its first Steal A Deal Day this Friday.

The day has also been brought forward at the request of traders to prevent the clash of the long weekend holiday.

As the name suggests shoppers will be able to steal a deal from the traders throughout Friday.

The shopping frenzy starts early with some traders opening their doors with super bargains from 7am.

With the Main Street closed for the day, traders will be offering once a year sidewalk specials, there will be rides for kids and a jumping castle, free face painting, shopping voucher giveaways, lolly giveaways, balloons, a barbecue from 9am until 10am and fairy floss.

As in the past the day will present a real carnival atmosphere, with a big crowd expecxted to snap up the once-a-year Steal A Deal Day bargains.

The participating traders reveal their Steal A Deal Day bargains in today's Stawell Times-News special 16 page Steal A Deal feature from pages 17-32.
