Mining prospectus showcasing businesses 

STAWELL - With Stawell Gold Mine currently in a transition phase, Northern Grampians Shire Council is preparing a 'Stawell Mining Sector Prospectus'.

The prospectus is aimed to assist local businesses promote their products and services to the mining sector in Victoria and interstate.

The prospectus will take the form of a professional folder with various profile sheets on Stawell businesses that service the mining sector.

Mayor Cr Wayne Rice said the document aimed to give local businesses impacted by the transition of Stawell Gold Mine an opportunity to showcase their skills and services to companies throughout Australia.

"The prospectus Council is putting together will be provided to mining companies within the region and those operating in Cobar, New South Wales," he said.

"It is not only mining expertise that Stawell is renowned for. Businesses in Stawell have become expert at providing specialised parts, equipment and responsive services to the Stawell Gold Mine and there is no reason that this can't continue for mines in Victoria, interstate and globally.

"It is a fantastic chance for local businesses to get their name out there and pursue various business opportunities."
